Shavuot, our favorite dairy holiday, is calling, and these sweet fingers are the perfect answer! Crispy, golden phyllo dough embracing creamy feta cheese, all drizzled with a touch of honey and sprinkled with pistachios for an extra crunch.

Think of them as a take on bite-sized kanafeh, minus the fuss. These delightful fingers are easy to prepare and perfect for serving as a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a sweet ending to your Shavuot feast.

  • 1 block Bulgarian or feta cheese about 8 ounces
  • 2 sheets phyllo dough
  • 2 teaspoons melted butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Sesame seeds
  • Honey
  • Crushed pistachios

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉/180℃. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Cut the block of cheese into fingers.
  • Lay out a sheet of phyllo and spread melted butter over top. Fold sheet in half and cut into strips with a pizza roller.
  • Take a strip and wrap it around the feta finger, place feta fingers on prepared sheet pan, brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Place in preheated oven and bake 25-30 minutes or until the fingers are golden from top to bottom
  • Before serving, drizzle honey and sprinkle pistachios on top.
