Rabbi Rowe holds a BA in Philosophy from University College London (UCL) and an MPhil in Philosophy from Birkbeck College, and studied for nearly a decade in Israel at various Talmudic institutes. Disappointing. While the world whines about the "genocide" they ascribe to Israel, they enthusiastically scream "from the river to the sea". So they falsely accuse Israel while they hypocritically call for genocide against Israel and, by the way, lament that Hitler, yemach sh'mo, didn't murder all the Jews.
While the Rabbi is probably correct in that the spirit of Amalek resides within many of us (including some who claim to be Jews, e.g., Bernie Sanders and Chuck Schumer), I disagree with the notion that it can be gotten rid of without physically destroying those who are infected with it.
The Jewish people must be preserved. If that means committing a physical genocide of those who hate us or are indifferent to our existence, so be it.
That's the victim mentality rising to the surface like an unwanted scum. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but Palestinians don't want to eradicate Israel. They want to eradicate the political movement of Zionism, because it's the basis of their suppression. They lived side by side with Judaism for hundreds of years. The partitioning of Palestine and the establishment of a Jewish state destroyed all that. The nakba was real no matter how you try to look the other way.
Paul, you seem to have forgotten that the UN suggested the partition and Israel accepted it but the Arabs did not - had they had accepted it they would have had their own land. And you are wrong - many Palestinians want no Israel and want it Judenrein.
In the end, this position that Alex O'Connor expresses, is hardly anything more than the effort to render Israel unable to defend itself. Israel is plainly and clearly NOT committing a genocide against the enemy "palestinians" so the next best thing if you're an anti-Semite is to harken back to the days if Exodus. Jew-hatred will find any route to arriving at the fiction of Israeli and Jewish evil. Haven't we seen that in like a million ways already? It really is as tiresome as it is ubiquitous.
I'm tired of the victim mentality. The Jews are not hated. They live in perfect harmony with other religions all over the world, even in Moslem dominated countries. Even Iran has a 35,000 strong Jewish community living in perfect harmony with all other citizens. It's Israeli Zionism that is hated by everyone now that they are being exposed throughout the world. Zionists like to equate their political movement in Israel with Judaism and it does give rise to antisemitism, unfortunately. Many Jews are furious with how Zionism has maligned Judaism, not only worldwide, but also in Israel. Zionism does not speak for all Jews.
There's no victim mentality - there is anti-semitism everywhere - look online and other places. If people cared so much about Zionism why such silence about massacres in Iran and other places - are you so vocal about those or only Israel?
