The correct answer is: Commandment. The Hebrew word, "mitzvah (מצוה)," is usually translated as "commandment," but it also shares a root with the word "tzavat (צות)," to join, and “tzevet (צוות),” a team. Similar to a team, which is something you join, a mitzvah is an opportunity to connect and become closer to God.

I got 100% easy!
I not even Jewish I like to study different cultures and regilion
I'm a Torah root believer, so naturally I only got questions about the tenak right. But then again some of the tricks questions through me off. Like the one about "how many tribes are there 13 or 12?" And "how many commandments are there."
Both those questions can be answered with the technical answer or the formal basic answer. Like technically there's 13 but officially only 12 tribes. And technically there's only 10 commandments but in total throughout the whole Torah there's 613.
I got all 100%! 😊
It all seemed pretty Jewish 🤷
I got 94.44%. The average score is 70%. Missed one question about the Decalogue. I literally thought there were 10!
50% isn't bad considering I'm not Jewish either culturally or religiously, unless you consider Christianity to be a form of Judaism
The answer for the burial question should be different cities because Rachel is buried in Bethlehem, not Hebron.
18 out of 18.....Chai Chai
Wow you’re good!
The tricked me on the question How many commandments are in 10 Commandments. It was clear that it’s more than 10, but not 613. For some reason I decided that one can deduct 26 commandments out of those 10 sentences 🤦🏻♂️
95%
You mean 94.44%?
Sorry, it rounds to 94, not 95 😅
94.44%! Am Yisrael Chai!
That was my score as well, I only got one wrong
Same here
Who would have thought? I’m barely Jewish but maybe not even!
How many did you get?
I meant to type 5 & typed 6 by accident
Nice i got 76% I Jew and I'm a proud it.. I'm Israel Chai!!
I really thought I was gonna ace this quiz but I only got 30% correct! It’s what get for doing bat mitzvah and bust.
Are you a man? You mean bar mitzvah? lol
In all fairness, some answers were… mmm… questionable
While i enjoyed the quiz, i would have expected more, and more complex questions. To be considered for next tile.
Good quiz enjoyed it
Rabbi Judah the Prince is also called Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi
If you noticed, other names like Abraham, Jacob, Rebecca were included in the quiz. It’s meant to reach a wider audience, who don’t know Hebrew names, yet have some knowledge of Jewish history.
The qu of where the patriarchs and matriarchs are buried is mistaken as your answer shows. The 'correct' answer is Hebron but in the answer, you state that Rachel is buried elsewhere.
That means the correct answer is not "Hebron" but "various places in Israel".
Good point!
Hello! Three minor notes:
1. In the question on the Gemara, the answer says it was compiled in "today's Iraq". That is true for Talmud Bavli, but not the Talmud Yerushalmi (unless the geopolitical situation has changed DRASTICALLY since I last checked).
2. While I'm aware Aish is Orthodox, the question about girls' bat mitzvahs should have been "12 or 13". Also, as I recall, both girls and boys can have their respective b'nei mitzvahs later if so desired (or for converts); is that a pandenominational thing, or only for Reform Jews?
3. The last question should've been, "Why were there 18 questions?"
Interesting and impressive points you make here!!!
I'm aware that while male coming of age is mentioned throughout historical Hebrew literature, the practice of a similar rite for girls became popular in 20th Century American Reformed culture. It was later adopted into American Conservative Jewish culture & it was only in the late 20th Century that American Jewish feminist culture spread to include Orthodox Jewish women as well.
18=Chai & symbolizes LIFE in Hebrew
LOVED IT!!!
Your questions about bar and bat mitzvah -- I think the wording is kind of strange. A boy BECOMES a bar mitzvah, and a girl BECOMES a bat mitzvah. It's the age they become obligated in the mitzvot. It's not just a date to have a party.
