The quiz system gave me a score of 30%.
I actually answered about 50% of the questions correctly but because my responses didn’t match exactly the format of the programmed response they were rated as incorrect.
This lack of flexibility is an inherent weakness of automatic testing and is especially pernicious when used in schools: knowledgeable students are graded down for individuality of expression.
Do we really want to raise a generation of organic bots?
