Tucker Carlson Is Spreading Lies about Jews and the Temple Mount

Carlson’s tactic of asking loaded questions and then letting guests spread falsehoods allows him to fuel outrage while keeping his hands clean—a cynical strategy that deserves exposure.

In a recent interview that has gained unfortunate traction online, Tucker Carlson hosted Greek-American Orthodox nun Mother Agapia Stephanopoulos, who made the inflammatory and baseless claim that Israel intends to "blow up" the al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount.

This dangerous accusation, presented without challenge and even encouraged through leading questions, demands a forceful response rooted in historical fact and Jewish values.

The interview featured a model of the ancient Jewish Temple, which served as a springboard for speculation about Israeli intentions regarding the Temple Mount.

This model incidentally sits on the rooftop of the Dan Family Aish World Center in the Old City of Jerusalem, an institution that I am the CEO of, and overlooks the Temple Mount. When Carlson asked how a Jewish temple could be rebuilt on a site currently occupied by Islamic holy places, Mother Agapia casually suggested Israel would simply "blow it up", a statement as offensive as it is untrue.

This interview represents just the latest instance of Carlson providing a platform for antisemitic voices while maintaining plausible deniability. By posing leading questions and then stepping back as his guests make inflammatory statements, Carlson enables the spread of dangerous falsehoods while technically keeping his own hands clean. It's a cynical strategy that deserves to be called out for what it is.

History directly contradicts these harmful claims. After Israel gained control of Jerusalem's Old City in 1967 during the Six-Day War, Israeli authorities made a momentous decision that speaks volumes about our true values.

Despite having the military capacity to alter the Temple Mount, then-defense minister Moshe Dayan instead returned administrative control of the site to the Islamic Waqf. Not only did Israel not “blow up” the Dome of the Rock nor the al-Aqsa mosque, which sits just south of it, but it returned proprietorship of the sites to Muslims.

Israel's decision was a unilateral choice and reflected the country's commitment to religious freedom and respect for all faiths. Before 1967, when Jordan controlled the Old City, Jews were prohibited from praying at the Western Wall, our holiest accessible site. Jewish cemeteries were desecrated, and dozens of synagogues were destroyed. When Israel regained control, it chose a different path.

Jerusalem is now a city with religious freedom

Israel transformed Jerusalem from a divided city where religious freedom was severely restricted to one where Christians, Muslims, and Jews can all access their holy sites in peace.

Yes, observant Jews do pray daily for the eventual rebuilding of the Temple. This has been part of our liturgy for two millennia, even before Islam was a religion. But in Jewish tradition, this rebuilding is associated with the Messianic era, a time of universal peace, and it will be done peacefully, and God will figure out how to do that.

Judaism believes that the Messianic era will be one of peace, where nations will beat their swords into plowshares. No responsible Jewish leader advocates for violent means to rebuild the Temple.

Both Judaism and Christianity believe that the Messianic era will be one of peace, where nations will beat their swords into plowshares. No responsible Jewish leader advocates for violent means to achieve this aspiration. The suggestion that Israel would "blow up" Islamic holy sites is not just factually wrong; it's a malicious distortion of Jewish theology and Israeli policy.

Models of the ancient Temple, like the one shown in the interview, exist for educational purposes, to help people understand the historical and religious significance of the site. They represent historical memory and future hope, not current building plans.

The reckless promotion of such falsehoods has real-world consequences. Similar allegations about Jewish designs on the Temple Mount have incited violence, even very recently. When media figures amplify these dangerous claims, they become complicit in the potential bloodshed that may follow.

By creating a platform for antisemitism, framing questions to elicit maximally provocative responses, and failing to challenge obvious falsehoods, he bears responsibility for the hatred he helps propagate.

Tucker Carlson cannot hide behind the excuse that he merely asks questions while others provide inflammatory answers. By creating a platform for antisemitism, by framing questions to elicit maximally provocative responses, and by failing to challenge obvious falsehoods, he bears responsibility for the hatred he helps propagate.

Israel's record speaks for itself. When Israel had the opportunity to destroy the Dome of the Rock in 1967, Israel chose preservation instead. Israel could have banned Muslim worship; instead, it chose to protect it.

Even when faced with terror attacks launched from the Temple Mount itself, Israel's response has been measured, with a focus on security rather than retaliation.

Those genuinely interested in understanding this complex and sensitive issue should look to Israel's actions over the past decades rather than inflammatory speculation from those with no authority to speak on Jewish or Israeli intentions.

The truth requires no exaggeration or fabrication; it simply demands to be told. I hereby invite you all to visit the Aish headquarters in Jerusalem’s Old City and see the realities on the ground for yourselves.

According to Jewish history and during the Holocaust the Ukrainians out did the Nazus( may their name be erased) in cruelty, and brutally toward Jews, also the Russian were also guilty of not treating Jews good in Russia during the Czar time and during communism, so why should Jews and Israel care about these two nationalities

"Israel's record speaks for itself. When Israel had the opportunity to destroy the Dome of the Rock in 1967, Israel chose preservation instead. Israel could have banned Muslim worship; instead, it chose to protect it."

The author is respectfully putting a kind spin on action that looks like we don't care about the House of G-d.

And yet the Maccabees were rewarded with a major miracle for removing foreigners and rededicating the Temple.

While we may not be able to currently rededicate the Temple, Israel could at least remove the foreign from the Temple Mount.

Actually, where the Muslims build the Dome of the Rock, on the Temple Mount was were the high priest went on Yom Kippur for Hashem to bless the Jewish people, it was the holiest part of the temple when the high priest went to ask Hashem to forgive the people on Yom Kippur every year

It's disconcerting that Carlson would find a Greek Orthodox nun of all people to demonise Israel. Greece was the first region outside Israel to which Jews voluntarily migrated (a mercantilist impulse) during the Second Temple era—hundreds of years before it was destroyed—and that Jews spoke Greek in Judea and Greece about a miillenium before Christianity appeared in Greece. The same Church to which this nun belongs did more to save Jews than any other Church in Europe (see Yad Vashem's list of Greek clergy among the Righteous of Nations). In 2023, the Greek Archdiocese of Australia joined Sydney Jews to commemorate 80 years since the Jewish community of Salonica was destroyed. It was arranged by the Greek Consul-General to Sydney. Carlson the cherry-picker, as always.

The critique is well-founded. Listening to that podcast was difficult: the guest leaned on cues like “Occupied Palestine” and other anti-Israel language, making her bias obvious. The same theme surfaced in the episode with Candace Owens.

Carlson also interviewed retired Army Lt. Col. Tony Aguilar, who accused Israel of war crimes, even firing on people at food distribution sites.

The refrain was consistent: “I have nothing against Israel, I have some Jewish friends, October 7 was terrible, but ISRAEL IS EVIL.”

As for the hostages, I’ve only heard Carlson’s podcast frame the issue as Israel being divided over how to bring them home, never focusing on the hostages’ suffering.

Podcasts filled with destructive insinuation.

Israel and Jews are not evil, the Hamas and Arab Muslim terrorists are evil, also in the prophets it is written in the end of days Ishmael will try to steal the identity of the Jews to steal outer inheritance of the land of Israel, and only Moshiach will solve the puzzle of who owes the land, even the Torah started with why Hashem started with Genesis in Rashi is the answer in the future the Jews will be accused of stealing her people's land and the answer is Hashem created the heavens and earth, so Hashem can give the land of Israel to the Jews as a inheritance, the Torah is the deed to the land with conditions to keep the Torah

And I am not so sure about other audience, whoever takes such statements seriously is anyway against us so I would not be so concerned about this.

Who cares what our enemies say. The golden dome mosque doesn't have to be blown up. It can be taken apart and sent to Mecca for rebuilding there.
We have a commandment to build a mikdash for God now. It has nothing to do with Moshiach. If, as Rashi says, He will send it down from heaven (there is no such Chazal), it does not exempt US from our obligation to do it ourselves.

I could understand why someone who follows Islam might say something about Jews blowing up a sacred site in Israel, but Eastern Othodox?? I guess I am bias because I have ancestors who are Jewish, Eastern Othodox (Romanain) and Asian (China). While the conflicts between Eastern Orthodox and Islam are well known the most famous conflict being the situation where Vlad the Impaler kicked the followers of Islam out of Romania, traditionally the Eastern Orthodox are the most tolerant of Jews of any Christian religion. However, there are Jew haters everywhere it is just I am not knowledgeable of it with respect to Eastern Orthodox Christians.

I have an awesome idea for Tucker's next interview.
You know that sweet Muslim Imam who gave that beautiful speech on Youtube about exactly how Mohamad held you should beat your wife? (Not too much that she should call the police. Hmmm...I wonder which country is the only country in the Middle East where the police would come into a house to protect an Arab woman from her abusive husband? Hmmm....Is it Saudi Arabia? Um, that'sa definite no. Think again...) Yes, it was a beautiful speech. I'm sure Tucker, the sweetheart, would love it.
If he has an empty spot available on his itinerary?
I don't know if he does.
I know he got the info on the mass murdering Imam, grand leader of the great Iranian republic.
Does he have time for one more?
This is important.

There aren't many sociopaths as one imagines, but more than we think. Tucker Carlson seems to be fitting into this diagnostic category. He now is getting people to lie for him and he then has deniable plausibility. However, propagandists often do this. He can disguise his hated for Jews, which seems to be a festering quality that many people are facing today. This hidden way of thinking is based on a psychotic thought process, yet the individual has external functioning, as what occurs in sociopathy. In the case of Jew hatred, there could be all sorts of reasons given. Because it has gone on since the beginning of our people, it is built on a severe mental distortion. It exists when early envy is not tolerable. One builds an internal defense and has to project it.

Normally you can tell that Tucker Carlson is lying when you see that his lips are moving. But that aside, Carlson's view of Israel, Judaism and Jewish people is formed by his wholehearted acceptance of replacement theology. Carlson (like many others) believes that national Israel has been replaced by The Church. Of course, to arrive at this "enlightened" position, Carlson has to completely ignore Romans chapiter 9, 10 & 11, where the New Testament states that God still has a distinct plan for the nation of Israel.

Wherever one positions himself in this debate, just know that Carlson also approaches this with an incredible amount of arrogance and clearly has no desire to manifest any form of grace, compassion nor kindness.

How true. Look at what he says about Ukraine, Musk, and so forth. In my book, he meets the antisemite criteria, but his blatant lies and avoidance of the truth are what needs to be challenged now and in the future. Thank you for posting.

You're saying Israel has joined sanctions against Russia/N Korea?
Sounds like you're clueless.

OK, you can criticize the failure to join those sanctions as poor policy by the Israeli government; if that’s your opinion it’s a legitimate criticism; but it certainly doesn’t justify spreading lies and whipping up hatred.

I agree, Kate sounds like a anti semite, in Israel there is Russian Jews and Ukrainian Jews, there is no Koreans in Israel , when I was in Israel in 2019 there was Chinese tourists going to Israel in the Crown Plaza hotel in Tel Aviv a business hotel, why does Israel have a 100 year contract with China it makes no sense to me, I am a Religious Zionist and a child of a Holocaust Survivor ( obm)

Remember the good ol' days when Orthodox Judaism was teaming up with Right Wing Christianity? Constantly promoting Judeo-Christian values? The Right is always Right" so it is okay to promote people like Andrew Tate in order to own the libs & feminists? Remember Dennis Prager making an article about how women are too emotional & keep voting for the left while meanwhile he gets absolutely fooled by Candace Owens right under his nose, a woman he promoted himself? I have seen conservative, right Orthodox Jewish men, keep saying that Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson are not antisemitic and we are just misunderstanding them, until these right ring, conservative, Orthodox Jewish men can no longer deny it

Like Jews, Christians are not monolithic. I am on the right. Many, many people on the right have rejected both Owens and Carlson after they’ve come out with their antisemitic comments. They’ve both gone off the rails. I am still waiting for the Jewish left to call out their leadership for doing the same.

Secular Zionism is a recent profane phenomenon among Jews.
Very much most of Israel's founders were profoundly estranged from Judaism.

Jews should learn from history and not let themselves get fooled by anti semites, Jews even voted for Hitler ( may his name be erased) the Jews should of seen the truth in the hate manifesto book " Mein Kenif " ( my struggle or my fight) in German, the moral is believe what anti semites say and don't fall and make excuses for anti semites, this is important for Jewish people's preservation, and in the end whoever starts up with Jews and Israel will not have a good end

Mein Kampf predicted a century ago a Jewish state would be, " a university of budding crooks".
2025, Israel harbors oligarchs and won't join sanctions against Russia/ N Korea.
China does Haifa's shipping.
You have yet to properly identify Israel.

Zionism is profane to Judaism.
Virtually no Jews envisioned a secular Zionist state E European in nature situated in the E Mediterranean anytime before 1900.
It was Protestant England that shoe-horned foreign Jews into Palestine using chemical weapons, 1917. Jews didn't beat back the ottoman empire on their day off from the pawn shop.

Zionism is a core tenet of Judaism. And though it would have happened differently without WWI, it still would have happened. The time had come.
