During WWII, record-breaking Italian cyclist Gino Bartali used his bicycle to smuggle forged documents, saving 800 Jews from death.

Bartali’s brave act of defiance against the Nazis made him a hero and inspired the prestigious Giro d’Italia 2018 bike race to begin in Israel this May, the first time the race has opened outside Europe.
