It’s not about being the best in the world… It’s about being the best FOR the world.
This inspiring video contains an important message we need to hear before Rosh Hashanah. Watch the short video below and then read on.
Not all of us were fortunate enough to have a Mr. Jenson in our life. Someone to tell us, “You are not a problem, you’re a drummer.”
To start the new year right, we need to tap into the unique greatness that we all possess. No exceptions. Every one of us has a soul, a spark of Godliness that is pure and lofty, and we are meant to unleash its dazzling light onto the world.
But all too often we get beaten down. Others don’t value our greatness; they call it a problem, something that doesn’t fit. And we learn to give up on ourselves, to view ourselves as a failure, a loser, someone who can’t really be expected to achieve amazing things and bring light into the world.
If we think our life is just one long string of failures and mistakes, and nothing more can be expected from us, how can we take responsibility for our actions and change? After all, we are doomed for failure.
Rosh Hashanah upends all that defeatist thinking. Every Jewish holiday reconnects us to the spiritual energy of that time. On Passover it is freedom; Sukkot it is joy. What happened on Rosh Hashanah?
Rosh Hashanah brings us back to the very beginning of creation when everything existed only in potential, including your brilliant soul. There are no failures, disappointments, mistakes or dashed dreams. We can tap into that energy of newness and cut free from the debilitating belief that we can’t amount to anything. There is no past; there is only your pure, goodly soul that is aching to soar.
This Rosh Hashanah, reconnect to your incredible strength, beauty and talent that is unique in this world. It’s the time to embrace your inner greatness and commit to accomplishing the goals that will bring out your stunning light. As Clint Pulver, the drummer in the video said, “It’s not about being the best in the world… It’s about being the best FOR the world.”
Take a few moments and reconnect to the greatness only you can bring to the world. God believes in you. He’s everyone’s Mr. Jenson. Discover your inner beauty and choose life.
