A traditional dessert for Rosh Hashanah.

Although this could be made as a sheet cake, I like the presentation much better (especially for a holiday) if made in a tube or Bundt pan (9 or 10-inch)

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon cloves
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup warm brewed coffee
  • ¾ cup orange juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉. In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and allspice. Make a well in the center and add oil, honey, sugars, eggs, vanilla, coffee and orange juice.
  • Beat on low speed until well combined. Pour into greased pan and bake for 60 to 70 minutes. Let sit in pan for 15 minutes before removing to wire rack to finish cooling.
