I converted to Judaism in my late 60’s. I was never married since I’ve become Jewish but many years back I was married to (and divorced from) a Gentile. Am I obligated to cover my hair today?
If you did not cover your hair when you were married, before you converted, you do not have to cover your hair today. (Note that there are (or used to be) countries in which even non-Jewish married women would cover their hair.) Nevertheless, it is best to cover your hair even today.

My husband and I converted Reform but have been living a more observant life ever since, which includes covering my hair. We have since joined an Orthodox program in the area. Am I allowed to continue covering my hair through the process or do I have to stop since I am not halachically a married Jew until I finish the program and get remarried halachically? I don't want to give up my tichels but I have also not had a chance to ask my Rebbetzin or Rabbi either.
