Just in time for 2025, the group StopAntisemitism has named Candace Owens as Antisemite of the Year. They stated that this title is, “A distinct dishonor is reserved for the most bigoted and hateful individual who is crowned the “Antisemite of the Year.”
Candace, a far-right media commentator who previously worked for Turning Point USA, PragerU, and The Daily Wire – where she lost her position following antisemitic remarks –made several hateful comments towards the Jewish community in 2024. With her “dishonor” title, she joins the ranks of previous Antisemites of the Year including Rashida Tlaib (2023), Kanye West (2022), and Ilhan Omar (2019).
Many have been left baffled as to why Candace made this sudden turn, which started after Oct. 7 and the subsequent war in Israel and the Middle East. In the past, she had stated that Hitler “wanted to make Germany great and have things run well,” and she stood by her friend Kanye West following his bout with antisemitism. But following Oct. 7, she started taking talking points from the far left, inferring that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza. “No government anywhere has a right to commit a genocide, ever,” she posted on X. “There is no justification for a genocide.”
Candace often says she is just asking questions and trying to seek the truth, as if she doesn’t know anything – but people aren’t buying it.
“I think these things begin with ignorance and end with money,” Cam Higby, a journalist who has publicly commented on Candace’s antisemitism, told Aish.com. “Candace is not an unintelligent person, and so I find it very difficult to believe that she buys into such indefensible positions.”
It seems like Candace’s father-in-law, Lord Michael Farmer, doesn’t even know what happened. After she started making hateful comments, he distanced himself from his daughter in law, reaffirmed his support for the Jewish people and Israel, and told his own backstory of witnessing the horrors of World War II in Britain. He posted on X, “I became very aware of the cruelty meted out, before and during that conflict, against Jewish people – because they were Jewish. I found it impossible to comprehend how humans could, intentionally, be as cruel as possible to others.”
So, what really went down with Candace Owens? No one knows. However, her behavior towards the Jewish people has been truly appalling. Here are some of her top antisemitic moments from the past year.
Leo Frank, a Jewish businessman, was falsely convicted in the murder of Mary Phagan, a 13-year-old, in 1913. He was then lynched, and in the wake of this, the Anti-Defamation League was founded. Though Frank was pardoned in 1986, and history shows his innocence, Candace became obsessed with the case and has tried to prove that Leo Frank was indeed guilty. She said that he was given an order to murder Mary Phagan, a Christian child, on Passover – which is an old antisemitic conspiracy theory.
The state of Israel was founded after the Holocaust, when Jews needed a place for safe refuge. Israel was chosen because the Jews have always lived there – it’s their homeland. But according to Candace, the state of Israel was founded by “Frankists,” a cult group of Jews who are pedophiles. She said that Israel exists to shield these child abusers.
In an interview on her podcast with Jewish comedian Ami Kozak, Candace said that she visited Israel and saw that Muslims in Jerusalem were only allowed to live in the “Muslim Quarter.”
“I grew up in my grandparents’ house, my grandfather grew up in a segregated South, and so when I’m walking through Jerusalem, and you see, and they say, ‘These are the Muslim quarters, this is where the Muslims are allowed to live,’ that doesn’t feel like a bastion of freedom to me,” she said.
Ami retorted, saying that Israeli Arab citizens have full rights and can live where they want, just like all citizens of Israel. “There’s an Armenian Quarter,” he said. “It’s not saying the Armenians can only live here.”
In September of 2024, Candace put up an interview with Kanye West in which he pushed the idea that Jews control the media. YouTube suspended Candace’s channel for promoting this misinformation, and afterwards, she posted on X, “They also removed the interview as ‘hate speech,’ as it was mass reported by Zionists. Their tactics never change.”
In a broadcast called, “The Truth About Zionism,” Candace said that anyone who speaks out about Israel has to say, “You know I don’t want to get killed.” She then stated, “They shot JFK in an open car, he was a sitting president, so my security doesn’t matter, if they want me they’re gonna get me.”
During the Six-Day War in 1967, Israel mistakenly targeted the USS Liberty, an American Navy spy ship, after it went into an area it wasn’t supposed to. The ship didn’t receive the order to leave in time, and Israel attacked it, thinking it was an Egyptian ship. Tragically, 34 crewmen died and 177 were injured. The U.S. and Israel, longtime close allies, concluded it was a case of mistaken identity and the attack was by no means deliberate.
However, Candace interviewed a survivor of the attack who claimed that it was deliberate, and she’s been spouting that lie.
“The conspiracy theories promoted by Candace Owens regarding the USS Liberty are nothing short of modern-day blood libels,” Ronen Shoval, dean of the Argaman Institute and a political philosopher told Aish.com. “The attempt to sow division between Israel and the United States through lies and fabrications is not only destructive, but also deeply deranged. This is yet another chapter in the long history of antisemitism disguised as a so-called ‘search for truth,’ which always seems to lay blame on the Jews – even when the facts clearly prove otherwise. These theories must be called out for what they are: dangerous lies with no grounding in reality.”
Who knows what 2025 will hold for Candace Owens? One thing is clear: She’s probably not going to stop lying about the Jewish people anytime soon.

Her claim was just as there was segregated housing once in America, it's STILL going on in Israel as evidenced by the "segregated" quarters of the Old City.
The irony is that it wasn’t the Jews who created that “segregation” - it was the British, who zoned the area in that way for administrative purposes, based on the demographics of that moment. One can see holes in the doorways of many houses in the Moslem quarter where mezuzot have been removed - showing these were once Jewish homes. What a disgrace to journalism this is. Candace never said that Hilter wanted to make Germany great. She was asked a question about nationalism and gave a historical example as to why people often think nationalism is a dirty word due to Hitler. There were other journalists at this event (including Jewish journalists), which happened around 5 years ago, and no one wrote anything about it until recently. Taking out the context of something like this to try and smear someone is very bad journalism and people are waking up to this. We need more REAL journalists like Candace Owens who are brave enough to report on what is actually happening around us and ask the important questions.
