Re Jonah (Yona), the Hebrew actually says "fish", not "whale", and there are many interesting commentaries on what kind of fish, whether it was pre-existing or created for the occasion, etc.
I expect the [mostly Christian] translators put "whale" because it was the largest sea creature they were aware of which also has the physiology to hold a man in its abdomen. They also may not have been aware that the whale is in fact a mammal rather than an actual fish - or not cared about that distinction.

I wonder if a future video could mention that Hashem is addressed both in the grammatical male form and in the grammatical female form? English translates both "Otcha" and "Otach" or "Lecha" and "Lach" as "You", so viewers of this video may not realize this.

Reader - please read my POST BELOW - RE: HOW G-D - REFERRED TO "HIMSELF" - IN HIS WRITTEN TORAH.. Yes - I think you'll find that - BOTH TERMS - "OTCHA & OTACH - ARE MEANING "YOU" - in the written & verbal form. WHY? Otcha & Otach" - are grammatically used when addressing a HUMAN - IN APPROPRIATE BIOLOGICALLY GENDER - in the male & female for,m. In Orthodox circles - I don't think G-D (Hashem) - is referred to - in the FEMALE CONTEXT. "Lecha - & Lach is used when addressing a human male - & female - in accordance with their PROPER BIOLOGICAL GENDER. Even though - there are those who are NOW writing GENDER NEUTRAL BIBLE & biblical text(S) - & asserting that - "G-D" - is in "WOKE" TERMS - a NON-BINARY being

Very clever & entertaining but a bit too fast and with the accent, a bit harder to understand. It almost sounds a bit flippant to me with the light hearted, quickie answers, especially with the essentially non answer on “She lo asani esha,” men thanking G-d for not making them a woman. That bracha could have been the same for everyone like the others, everyone thanking Hashem for creating us according to His will, both men & women, WHY NOT?

The part about Jews for Yeshu way too fast to glibly go over and brush aside. Too many of our young people are being taken in by that, even those from traditional and observant families with strong, positive Jewish education, formal & informal.

IF G-D gave the responsibility/command to Moses to write His Written Torah - as He dictated it to Moses - & in several places - it refers to G-D - as "HE" - EG: "G-D said: {I alone am HE - there is no other G-D - BUT ME}. So - if that's the case - are we making the wrong conclusion - by referring to G-D - as "HE"?

I loved this video! You're hysterical Rabbi Cohen! Judaism with a side order of humor is the best! Thank you!
