Not every grocery carries them, but I am a big fan of using cocktail franks in my franks and beans “recipe” I use the term recipe very loosely, as I am almost embarrassed labeling it such. You could literally open a can of Heinz vegetarian baked beans and cook them in a saucepan with cocktail franks and you’d have a winner, winner, wiener dinner. But let’s chef it up a bit.

Instructions
- In a medium sized skillet, cook the hotdogs and onion over medium-high heat until they are lightly browned, about 5 minutes until the hotdogs and onions pick up some nice color.
- Add the beans, mustard, garlic powder, BBQ sauce and brown sugar. Add the liquid smoke if using, for a chuck wagon flavor. Cook, covered, over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally so the beans don’t stick to the bottom of the pan. Serve hot.
