Family Prayer

May 13, 2010 | by

Rabbi Feldman was speaking with little Shmuel Lieberman, a precocious six-year-old boy, "So, you tell me Shmuel, do you say your prayers every night?”

“Why yes I do, rabbi,” responded Shmuel.

“And tell me, what do you pray about?”

“I say prayers for my whole family,” said Shmuel proudly.

“That’s very nice of you,” the rabbi sounded impressed. “I bet your family prays for you too.”

“Oh I know they do,” responded Shmuel confidently. “I hear my mother every night say ‘Thank God that boy is in bed!’”
