Trump's Shabbat Proclamation and America's Founding Promise
Tu B'Shvat, the New Year for the Trees, is on Saturday, January 23, 2027, beginning Friday evening. It is a minor holiday celebrating the "birthday" of the trees, which has significance in the Torah's agricultural laws. It also reminds us of the Sages' comparison of man to a tree.
It is customary to eat fruit, especially the special fruits of the Land of Israel on this day, as well as appreciating the environment and God's beautiful natural world. Some celebrate Tu B'Shvat with a Kabbalistic Seder.
