Ingredients

Sandwich

  • 1 bagel split and toasted
  • ¼ cup whitefish salad
  • 2 ounces sliced smoked sable fish
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese
  • Pickled Red Onions
  • Capers

Homemade Pickled Red Onions

  • 2 large red onions peeled, halved, and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/8 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 heaping teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

Sandwich

  • Lay toasted bagel out open on a plate.
  • Spread white fish salad on one side. Top with sable, red onions and capers.
  • Spread cream cheese on the other half of bagel. Place over the sandwich and serve.

Homemade Pickled Red Onions

  • Place all the ingredients in a glass jar and keep in the fridge until ready to use. The longer you store it the more intense the flavor gets.
  • As the onions are so thin you can start using them after half an hour of marinating in the pickling liquid.
