Sandwich
- 1 bagel split and toasted
- ¼ cup whitefish salad
- 2 ounces sliced smoked sable fish
- 3 tablespoons cream cheese
- Pickled Red Onions
- Capers
Homemade Pickled Red Onions
- 2 large red onions peeled, halved, and thinly sliced
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 1/8 cup granulated sugar
- 1 heaping teaspoon kosher salt
Sandwich
Lay toasted bagel out open on a plate.
Spread white fish salad on one side. Top with sable, red onions and capers.
Spread cream cheese on the other half of bagel. Place over the sandwich and serve.
Homemade Pickled Red Onions
Place all the ingredients in a glass jar and keep in the fridge until ready to use. The longer you store it the more intense the flavor gets.
As the onions are so thin you can start using them after half an hour of marinating in the pickling liquid.
