The Jewish Horse

July 23, 2009 | by

Yaakov asked Yehuda to borrow his horse. Yehuda answered, "Sure, but this horse works differently. When you want him to go faster, say, 'Baruch Hashem,' and when you want him to stop, say 'Shema Yisrael.'" Yaakov has been traveling for two days, when he sees that the horse is getting close to a cliff. Yaakov frantically tries to remember the words to stop the horse, but the words slipped his mind. As the horse is about to gallop into the cliff, Yaakov, about to die, shrieks "SHEMA YISRAEL!!" The horse stops. Relieved, Yaakov says, "Phew! Baruch Hashem!!"
