Blessing on Chewing Gum
Do we recite a bracha on chewing gum, being that we never actually eat it?
The Aish Rabbi Replies
Yes we do, and the blessing is she’hakol. Although we do not make a blessing on food which we taste but do not eat (see here), gum has sweeteners, which we do swallow when we chew it. Since we enjoy this taste, we must recite a blessing. Note that after reciting the blessing you shouldn’t talk until after you swallowed a little bit of the sweet taste.
