Stella Hanan Cohen is an award winning cookbook author and artist living in Zimbabwe.
As a descendant of the Sephardic Jews of Rhodes Island she was fueled to perpetuate her culinary legacy from medieval Spain and the Ottoman Empire in the book ‘Stella’s Sephardic Table’.
Stella’s lifelong dedication towards preserving and revitalizing her Judeo-Spanish culture was acknowledged by the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2017.
She has been featured in many publications including the Jewish Food Society and contributed with her recipes to books ‘Sabores de Sefarad’ and ‘Too good for Passover’.
Stella’s art has been exhibited extensively worldwide. One of her paintings in on permanent exhibition at the Center for Jewish History in NYC.
