Mati Wagner was born in New Jersey and grew up in Santa Monica and San Diego. He is a father of eight and lives in Maale Adumim, Israel with his wife Dvorah. He has a BA in Economics and Sociology from Bar Ilan University, has studied at the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem and has ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. He is the former editorial writer for The Jerusalem Post and his writing has appeared in Commentary, i24 News, JTA, Religion Dispatches and Tablet. He presently splits his time between business ventures and Torah studies, particularly Hassidic thought.
