Rabbi Eliyahu Essas is a founder of the Baal Teshuva movement in the Soviet Union. While living in Moscow, he spent created an underground network of Torah studies, children's education, and summer camps. In 1986, after political dealings, Rabbi Essas and his family were given permission to move to Israel. Rabbi Essas currently works for Aish in Jerusalem, and is a founder of the popular Judaism website in Russian, evrey.com.
