Daniel Olgin

Rabbi Daniel Olgin has been director of the Ohio State University Aish Campus Leaders Program since 2005. Daniel grew up as a marginally affiliated Jew in University Heights, Ohio and attended Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that a roommate from Tennessee, who had never seen a Jew before, wanted to know if Jews have horns. This prompted Daniel to become more Jewishly involved; he became a Jewish Studies major and served as president of the Jewish Student Activities Board of Hillel. Daniel has attended Yeshiva Ohr Somayach and Yeshiva Bircas HaTorah in Jerusalem, and received rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. He holds a Masters degree in Judaic Studies and Education and a Teachers Certificate from the Ministry of Education of the State of Israel. Daniel worked for many years with NCSY, and has served as a day school teacher, congregational rabbi, and counselor in anti-missionary activities. He and his wife, Rivky, reside in University Heights and are the proud parents of seven children. Daniel enjoys music, playing with his kids, science fiction, the outdoors and meditation.
