Shimmy Kaufman is Director of Educational Programs for Israelis in Jerusalem. Originally from Monsey, New York, Shimmy was exposed to the beauty of Jewish outreach at a young age through his father, Chanan Kaufman, director of the Jerusalem Fellowships. Shimmy began studying at Aish HaTorah in 2001, at age 15, and built a close relationship as the personal assistant to Rabbi Noah Weinberg zt”l. Aish’s World Center across from the Western Wall is a great opportunity to provide dynamic programs that inspire Israelis to appreciate the importance and relevance of being Jewish. To this end, Shimmy acts as Aish’s liaison to the army, high schools and tour guides.
