Yaffa Eliach

Yaffa Eliach is a pioneering scholar in Holocaust studies and a Professor of History and Literature in the Department of Judaic Studies at Brooklyn College. In the two decades since its publication, "Hasidic Tales of the Holocaust" has become a classic of Holocaust literature, translated into many languages. Prof. Eliach conceptualized and designed the Tower of Life, the three-story photo montage featured at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C. Her latest project is the Shtetl Foundation, a project to build a full-size replica of a typical Eastern European Shtetl in Rishon Le-Zion, Israel. Find out more at shtetlfoundation.org.
