BDS Founder Omar Barghouti says it’s okay to take an Israeli developed coronavirus vaccine. Not so fast.

Omar Barghouti, one of the founders of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel, recently announced that it would be okay for Israel boycotters to take an Israeli developed coronavirus vaccine. Not so fast, Omar. Read this limerick I wrote first.

There once was a man whose name was Barghouti
Who was not renowned for his brains or his beauty.
In no time at all with no fuss or mess
He founded an organization called BDS.
In truth it was remarkably simple.
It had only one guiding principle:
Refuse to buy or sell or even taste
Anything at all made in the Jewish state.
In the blink of an eye Barghouti was a sensation.
What a great way to destroy a nation.
They thought a boycott would send the country reeling.
They didn’t realize with whom they were dealing.
With brains, cooperation and serious intention
Israelis became the mothers of invention.
In medicine, science and performing arts,
Israel was truly a country of mega smarts.
Then came Corona and the world was taking wagers:
How long for Israel to make it to the majors?
To find a cure or some kind of solution
For a disease that was spreading death and confusion.
Barghouti didn’t want to miss out on the game.
So he changed the rules. His motive was plain.
To save his hide and remain alive
It’s ok to benefit from what Israel has devised.
But oh no, Barghouti. You will not be preserved.
You wanted the boycott. You got what you deserved.
